| Due
to the set up of the kit, at the last jam, being the first one at Dimensions,
teething problems were inevitable. This time round, however, we felt we
got it set up/out much better. (Let us know??) A 1pm start saw the masses pour in and the chaos commenced! It was a surprise seeing Tony Dasilva at the jam quite as early as 1.30pm, as he had been to ‘Night Of The Living Dead’ at Rampworx in Liverpool, the night before. Apparently he had slept in the car and went from there to the jam!! A bit worse for wear but that didn’t stop him ripping the place up throughout the day!! In fact the Rampworx bash had taken a few casualties who normally would have been at the jam- just glad I declined the offer to go as an early start, setting up the stuff would have been just too much for an old timer like me!!! The good thing was that there was a bit more room than the last jam, so not as many bumping into each other!! |

Anyway, all the usual
stuff took place. We decided to do the ‘best trick’ hour again,
due to a vote on Sketchy asking which format you lot preferred and the majority
voted for this format, as it made good viewing and all the tricks were compressed
into the hour etc!! (Thanks to all who bothered to vote.)
Phil came out overall winner, receiving a Panic blank deck from Dazed, who absolutely tore the driveway to pieces. How d'you work out 'best trick with this lot? Perfect and so fast 5-0's, nosegrinds, krooks on the d'way rail. Switch kickflip boardslide, switch f/s 5-0, switch f/s tailslide- all down the rail and a cheeky b/s krooks on the flat part of the rail and popped out and landed over the other side!! All this and then started with loads of flip variations on the hip/transfer. Chalky, we gave runners up, winning an independent cap- also from Dazed, as he landed an amazing, super fast lipslide on the big green barrier- off the driveway!! He was also busting his balls to land a smith on it too, only just missing out before tweaking his ankle!! Watch out for it landed at the next jam??!! ‘Also rans’ were Norris, Sam and Kev whom were all skating amazing during this mad hour! Some wicked skating from Richie and ‘G’ was going off- was that switch frontside boards and blunts they were trying??!!- Nails!!! I know G was well close to nollie krooks down the driveway rail but ran out of time- get it next time man!! |
