Stoked Skate Jam- Sunday 7th December 2003 @ Dimensions, Burslem, S-O-T. |
How lucky are we Stokies??!! On the day of this jam, the weather outside was getting very cold and lets face it, its hard work skating in subzero temperatures. So to think that we can rely on these jams every six weeks or so is going to be so good through the months to come!! Anyway, enough of my ramblings. The jam!! As usual we opened the doors at 1pm to around 150 enthusiastic skaters and right away they started to find their favorite piece of kit to wreck!!! We set up the driveways a bit different, this time, by putting them side by side. I thought it worked well, giving a bit more room in the arenas and concentrating the carnage in one space?? We got around 200 turning up throughout the day, so thanks for your support!! |

Some of the skating was, as usual, awesome!! We certainly have got some talent coming through and it's good to see the young 'uns keep turning up and seeing that bit more skill each time they turn up to the jams. Tony Dasilva was killing it early on, Chalky and Phil were taking the p**s out of the big driveway- challenging each other to a game of S.K.A.T.E.. Did anyone check Chalky's smith and 5.0 the whole rail??- Unreal! During the 'best trick' hour Chalky was trying his stuff on the barrier- 5.0's and smith's, so nearly pulled and with busted toes for Christ's sake!! Phil was trying to get b/s nollie flip lipslides down the rail and bagging one too! Carrying on from last time, G landed his nollie krooks down the rail and Ritchie got a talslide transfer fakie out on it too. Rob from Congleton was trying stuff on the barrier and caning himself more than a few times but landing a nice boardslide on it for his pain- hats off , that's a nasty rail!! It was Si Davis though that came up with the goods for the prize- a South Star blank donated by Drew at Dazed (Cheers as usual mate!!). He was destroying the rail all day and landed a 270 front board to cap it all!! Well done mate- see you next time! |
