Although this skate facility was actually completed a few months back, it never got a 'christening' as such. Also, with having the plaza built and the weather being so dodgy, it hardly got out of the shadows!!

As the SAS were involved with this one, from the start, we were asked by the council to put on a skate jam to officially 'open' the park and to give it some coverage etc.

A nice low key affair with some good sounds and some great skating!! The Clone team were out in force and great to see the lads from Simple turn up and thrash about the place.

The new 'two levelled' blocks/walls were getting heavily sessioned by all. Matt Webb- backside 50.50's to krooks; big krooks on the big ledge. Dez Cavern- ollie up to nose manny, shove out ; ollie up to nose manny, 360 shove out; backside 50.50's on both levels. Mikey- ollie up to manny flip out and a super fast backside 180 fakie nosegrind on the big ledge from Phil Williams (click for vid clip)!!!

The main driveway area was also seeing some action. Massive backside melon grabs out of the quarter from Phil Williams. Matt Webb was giving the rail some hammer- lipslides, 50.50's, nosegrinds, krooks and over krooks!!

We held a bit of a 'best trick' comp and watched around for any unflowed riders who were rippin'. Ben Lyttleton shone out with some amazing stuff! Flip backside 5.0's along and down the hubba ledge; fakie 360's over the driveway; 50.50's the rail; some well good flip tricks on the flat bank; krooks down the rail and the hubba and a couple of old school hand plants on the quarter!! A worthy winner I'm sure all agreed!! He won himself a brand new Clone deck courtesy of Drew at Dazed/Clone but we couldn't find him a spare tooth!!!!!

A good little session, had by all at a nifty little facility. The weather was kind to us, for a change, and after it had all wound down- up to the plaza to finish the day off nicely!!
