Last one of the year, great turn out and loads of great skating!!! Thanks for your support. It has been a really good year with the jams. We have been getting around 200 skaters per jam and hardly any problems!! Where could you get that amount of people, in one room, for seven hours, ten times a year and not get any hassle, other than a skateboarding event??? Answer: NOWHERE ELSE!!! Be proud of what we stand for- unity!!! The jams and their success, I'm sure, have played a massive part in getting the council to sit up and take note of what a good scene Stoke has and helped push the decision to spend a lot of cash on what will be one of the biggest and best skatepark/plaza's in Europe!!! Be proud again for your part in that!! Can't wait to be holding jams, comps and demo's at the park!!!! |

Anyway, to the jam! All the familiar faces, rippin' it up big time. Chalky, Phil and most of the 'Ill Minds' crew were a bit sedated due to it being Chalky's birthday the night before and was a bit worse for wear but amazing to see him there skating like a maniac as usual!! Chilled block session to suit! Great to see Danny Callow turn up again- he ripped the course up and was enjoying the vibe! During 'best trick he treated us to a huge ollie over the driveway to flat, then, now finding his range, dished out a backside 180 and a massive kickflip!!! Also, an old face returns! Mark Kendrick from Stafford turned up. He was on fire and nailed a varial heelflip off the driveway to flat but then during 'best trick' tried one over the whole driveway and nailed it. This bagged him a free deck courtesy of DAZED/Drew- Cheers mate and well done to Mark! |

Great to see Brad Lynch back after a long layoff due to a knee operation. He was back to his old tricks- literally! Frontside nollie to switch 5.0's, frontside nollie tails, blunts....all attempted with some super Brad slams!!! He will be back big time soon- no question. The raffle went down with the usual mass hysteria. I'm sure one young kid at the front nearly passed out when his number came out- Christ he was shaking and stuff!!! Thanks to all the companies that helped us out with proddy and stickers etc- Eastpak (cheers Nick), A4/Etnies (cheers Anne), Document, Sidewalk, i Path, Death, OG Distribution and of course Drew @ Dazed for his worthy contribution. Thanks to all who turned up and have supported the jams throughout the year. Here's to next year and a very exciting one it should be!! Mark. |
