'Platform-1'/ Crewe Skatepark/plaza 'Opening Jam' - Sunday 29th October 2006.

It was a weird coincidence that this 'opening jam' fell on the same day, a year previous, as we put on the Stokeplaza opening! So a double celebration!

'Platform-1' at Crewe is not as big and as grand as Stokeplaza but is a decent facility all the same and is great to have two different but quality skateparks in the area. I'm sure the envy of the rest of the UK?!

The day went well with the weather being very kind. A bright sunny day made sure skaters arrived early and stayed until it went dark.

Appearances from Icon's Dan Leech and a few lads from the Karma team- Joe Nobes, Adam Aulaqui and John Tanner. Also, a few of the Casual lads turned up, who ripped on arrival! Lewis Threadgold- nosegrind 180 out on the massive ledge!

The local teams- Clone and Simple were skating well all day and seemed to enjoy the place too.

A little 'best trick' comp was set up on the 7-set/rail/hubbas etc, near the end of the day, which saw some good stuff. Ben Lyttleton but was just shaded by Rob Norris with his switch krooks (after a few meaty slams!). A nice bag of proddy for him- well done mate!

Sorry no photos from this bash but here is a little vid to give you an idea of what went down!

Also, a clip from the Casual team/site- Cheers!
