Go Skateboarding Day- Sunday 21st June 2009.

On Sunday 21st June, it was 'International Go-Skateboarding Day'!

The weather (as usual) held us up but we got a break in the afternoon and we held a mammoth 'Batttle Of The Berrics' style game of SKATE?

The early heats saw some epic battles, resulting Tom Hughes, Bri Gallon, Matty Hammond and Si Toft ending up in the semi-finals.

The latter two were the finalists and Lil' Si Toft was the overall winner bagging himself a nifty Nixon watch, while the other three got to win a new deck each! (Courtesy of Dazed Skateshop -cheers Drew!)

Thanks to all who turned up and especially those who entered the comp.

See ya next year!!

Four Star at Stokeplaza!!!!!

The Four Star team demo on Sunday 7th June at Stokeplaza, ended up being a bit of a wash-out with thre rain!

A few lucky people stuck it out and got to see 'The Gonz' skate the plaza abit in the rain on his longboard. The man is legend!!

The team did spend time at Dazed Skateshop to meet everyone and sign stuff. I'm sure that made up (a bit!) for not getting a demo!?!

A huge thank you to Mathieu/Revival Distribution, for getting the team up to Stoke and Mark Gonzales, Brian Anderson, Tyler Bledsloe, Andrew Brophy, Mike Carroll, Rick Howard, Nick Jensen, Sean Malto, Guy Mariano, Lucas Puig and Max Schaaf for simply turning up and spending time with us in Stoke. Honoured!!

Keep your eyes on www.fourstarclothing.com and twitter.com/therealcrailtap for any pics or footage etc of the day. Also some great pics of the locs at Dazed during the signing at skatestoke.blogspot.com.

There is also some footage on Mpora- check it out!

'Skater Of The Plaza' comp!

On Sunday 3rd May, the 'Skater Of The Plaza' competiton was held and was a great success.

A massive thanks to all who came and entered the comp and made it worth while! Hopefully we can make this event an annual thing and even more will pluck up the courage to enter next year. Also a huge thanks to Dazed Skateshop for sponsoring the event (and of course Drew who did loads of 'running around' to get all the applications sorted etc!). Huge thanks to the Etnies and DC representatives, who came and did the judgeing for all the comps. Also, to the DJ's who provided the sound and Chris from Venombase studios for the PA.

Congrats to 'Shane Gratton ' (who broke his wrist for his commendable efforts- hope you are ok mate?), who won the 8-12years category. Well dones to 'Curt Munton ', who won the 13-17years section and ' Ben Gay ', who won the 18+years section (and was 'crowned' Skater Of The Plaza'!!)

A full write up and photos will be on the 'EVENTS' page very soon. Be sure to check it out!

First Light for Jed!

Well done to Jed Coldwell for getting his 'First Light' in the March 2009 issue of Sidewalk magazine!

In it since he was a nipper, a regular (and prize winner) at the STOKED jams we did back in the day' and still in it for all the right reasons.

I'm sure all who know him, or even just seen him rip, know he deserves it. Well done mate!

For more Jed footage etc, check out Matty Moss's site out at The Source webbo!
